The Language Centre is part of the School of Modern Languages and Cultures,
College of Arts, University of Glasgow. Within the University, the Language
Centre offers training in Modern Foreign Languages and English as a Foreign
Language to support students at the University and to prepare students coming
to university. We also provide Teacher Training and offer specialist courses
in English for professional purposes with strengths in needs analysis, course
design, materials preparation and blended learning.
The University of Glasgow, founded in 1451, is the fourth oldest university
in the English-speaking world. Today it is a broad-based, research-intensive
institution with a global reach. The University includes a leading university
museum – the Hunterian – home to the world’s largest permanent display of the
work of James McNeill Whistler and the largest single holding of the work of
Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
